Have some time? Have some desire? We are always looking for new volunteers to help the community. 
The Southampton Volunteer Ambulance is always looking for volunteers to join our team. We have three basic types of membership: Active, Probationary, and Inactive membership. Active and probationary members ride on the ambulance and participate in Emergency Medical calls.

 

Getting started...

  1. Complete the Southampton Volunteer Ambulance Application online or print and return to P.O Box 2760, Southampton, NY 11969.

  2. Prepare to bring 3 letters of recommendation from members of the Southampton community.

  3. Copy your driver's license and submit it at the interview.

Once your application has been received, Adele Kristiansson, Membership Committee Chairperson, or one of the Committee Members will contact you to plan an interview.  Please feel free to contact Adele Kristiansson at SVA Headquarters.  

 

The Process....

  1. Interview with members of the Membership Committee.
  2. If you pass the interview, you will be presented at the next possible SVA Membership Meeting.
  3. Once voted in, you will be on Probation for a period of time to be determined based on your experience.
  4. After probation, Membership may vote you to full membership.

 

Member expectations ....

  1. Pass CPR Class
  2. Attend monthly meetings and drills (First and Third Mondays each month)
  3. Night duty - respond to calls from 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. one night each week or respond to 10% emergency calls placed between 6:01 a.m. and 5:59 p.m.
